Let’s talk about all the preparing for your day. If it was a party, it could be as little as a couple of weeks. If this was a wedding, it may be a couple years. Think about it…thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars will be spent on this day, Can you afford to have a cheap DJ ruin it?

It can start with a cheap DJ!

Here are some common examples like:

DJs who are aggressive, obnoxious, insensitive, doesn’t play your requests, doesn’t talk, talks too much, TOO LOUD, burnt out by 2 weddings that day, drinking on the job, lacks enthusiasm, doesn’t work well with the Photographer and Videographer, or just plain didn’t show up at all…perhaps even to a higher paying gig!

What about the music?

Many of these cheap djs download the music from these free music sharing sites like “Bearshare” or “Limewire” that run risk of a cut off song, poor quality, the wrong song, and an unedited filthy version that wasn’t played like that on the radio. This music wasn’t bought and paid for like the professionals did…including the rights to play it in public for money.

A cheap dj may use an IPOD as the main system. It is not exactly convenient for finding tracks quickly, has a lower mp3 recording quality (128 kps compared to 192, 256, or 320 kps ). This lacks in deep base and a crisp high frequency in current songs including some additional hiss in the background.

A cheap dj plays only one style of music…his style! (ignoring the needs of the crowd). A cheap djs  price is the same as the nightclub or bar that this dj regularly plays at. Unfortunately, the possible “less than stellar” character and the increased sound level usually reflects this too.

A cheap dj doesn’t have a backup system, a written contract, appropriate attire,  and would rather talk on the cell phone rather than everyone else.

By the time you realized all this… it is already too late.

Choose your dj wisely!!!

Respectfully,
